Wireless Dog Fence - The PetSafe PIF-300 is the premier wireless containment system. It has many advantages over the in-ground buried wire models. There is no wire to bury, installation and setup are easy. No digging up the yard. It's portable. It's a great containment solution for that summer home or camping trips.
The PetSafe Wireless Dog Fence comes with everything you need for one dog. The kit contains one transmitter, one transmitter AC power adapter, one receiver/collar with short contact points, one set of long contact points, 50 boundary flags, one test light and one RFA-67 battery (collar battery). An excellent owner's/training manual is included with each kit. The manual outlines an effective two week training program of about 20 to 30 minutes each day. You can also buy the RFA-58 which allows you to power the transmitter through the lighter port in your car, truck or RV.

The PetSafe PIF 300 wireless dog fence forms a circular containment field from a central transmitter. The range can be adjusted from approximately 10 to 90 feet. Your pet wears the receiver collar. The receiver collar has contact points that make contact with your pet's neck. Static correction is delivered through the points. The receiver collar has a beep and five levels of static correciton. Your pet is free to roam and play in the pet area. If your pet enters the two to three foot boundary zone it will receive a beep and then static correction until it returns to the pet area. Boundary flags should be used initially to give your pet a visual boundary. There are a few things to consider before using this system. The transmitter needs to be located two to four feet above ground level. It should be in a dry, well ventilated, protected area where the temperature doesn't fall below freezing. Large metal objects can affect the size and shape of the pet area so the transmitters should be at least three feet from any large metal objects. If you have a sloped yard, it can affect the size of the pet area. You may need to reposition the transmitter to maximize the pet area. The transmitter can control an unlimited number of receiver collars. You simply need to purchase additional receiver collars. You can add additional transmitters to increase the pet area. When you add more transmitters, you should overlap the pet area on each by five to ten feet.

The PetSafe PIF-300 is a great system. I have a large lot and a nine year old German Shepherd. She doesn't roam far so I don't need to cover the entire yard. We like to camp in the summer and like to take Mayday along. This system is perfect for us. It keeps my girl in the yard at home and close to the camp site when we're camping. I own and sell this system. I'm very satisfied with it. My experience is that it's very important that you do your boundary training. Most of the returns I've seen on this system can be attributed to the owner not following the training instructions. If you take the time to place your transmitter properly and train your pet, you'll be very happy with how this system performs.
